Medium hard means its firmer than a medium brush but not as firm as a hard brush its the brush thats in between a medium and a hard.This brush is softer than the 450 but harder than the 570. This brush is good for wolfing and should not be used on a fresh cut or real low hair. This brush is not for fresh cuts,shower brushing or wash and style as this can damage the brush .
